A recent report from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) found stark COVID-19 vaccination disparities depending on geographic location, racial and social disparities.

While more than 80% of adults 65 and older had received at least one vaccination, only about 70% of older adults in Alabama were jabbed with at least one coronavirus shot versus nearly 100% of seniors in New Hampshire, according to the study.

While the study was only able to obtain racial demographic information from about 60% of the groups surveyed, it found those who had received at least one shot were overwhelmingly white.

Another study by the Kaiser Family Foundation found Hispanics were twice as eager to get vaccinated as non-Hispanic whites or Blacks, but were still facing obstacles accessing the vaccine. The Kaiser study found more than 30% of non-vaccinated Hispanics wanted COVID-19 shots compared to 17% of Blacks and 16% of whites.

More than two-thirds of Hispanics polled said they worried about missing work due to side effects from the vaccine.
