CVS Health's Symphony system

CVS Health has launched a new medical alert system designed to “help give caregivers peace of mind as they monitor a loved one’s safety and well-being through a connected health approach,” said Adam Pellegrini, senior vice president of enterprise virtual care and consumer health at CVS Health.

The Symphony system uses a wearable care button and voice-activated Smart Hub to enable hands-free calls to caregivers or emergency responders. A free app enables caregivers to receive alerts and to assist with facilitating care coordination. In addition, the app’s algorithms track when normal conditions, such as average room temperature or air quality, are disrupted and may require attention.

In addition to a basic package, the “Essential Bundle” includes motion sensors and a voice-activated fall sensor. Complementary devices are available, if desired, including additional motion sensors to extend the range of coverage in larger homes, and entry sensors for use on doors, cabinets or windows.
