Senior with tech

Good news, home care operators: The deadline for the McKnight’s Tech Awards nominations has been extended until Tuesday, June 1. There is no cost to enter the competition, and you may earn bragging rights.

The McKnight’s Tech Awards program includes each of the brands: McKnight’s Senior Living, McKnight’s Long-Term Care News, and, for the first year, McKnight’s Home Care.

Winners will be recognized in three tracks: Home Care, Senior Living and Skilled Nursing. All providers are eligible. Gold, Silver and Bronze awards will be awarded in the following categories:

1. Quality – Winning entries will describe the technology involved and how it was applied to improve the quality of care or services.

2. Innovator of the Year – Winning entries will describe how technological innovation was key to the entry’s success and how it made a difference in the provision of care or services or the bottom line.

3. KISS (Keep It Super Simple) – Winning entries will describe a simple but effective application of technology that improved the provision of care, services or operations.

4. Building Bridges – Winning entries will describe the ways in which an operator is using technology to improve connections between staff members and residents and/or their families.

This year’s awards program will be a part of the McKnight’s Tech Awards + Summit, taking place on Aug. 25 and 26. The summit portion will offer webinars through which attendees have the option to earn continuing education credits.

Nominations will be judged by a panel of experts, and the awards program is open to care and service providers only; vendors are not permitted to enter.

Entries will be judged on impact, rather than aesthetics or expenses. How has a piece of technology, whether simple or complex, helped your home care organization? Whatever it is, your peers want to hear about it!
