More than half of the home health agency respondents to a recent survey said the biggest pandemic-related change to their business models has been converting to digital delivery of services, and that this conversion will be necessary for their survival in a post-coronavirus world.

“Telehealth has become the means in which we work with families,” said Business First Home Health Agencies List participant Patty Jeffries of Creative Therapies of Western New York, according to Buffalo Business First.

Frederick Pordum of the Visiting Nursing Association of Western New York added: “Several regulatory changes that occurred as a result of the pandemic will benefit home healthcare, including allowing midlevel providers to certify a plan of care and allowing providers to perform video visits.”

Sixty-two percent of survey respondents reported a decline in business since the start of the pandemic.
