Home care workers and patients should receive priority status for COVID-19 vaccinations, according to American College of Physician recommendations.

In a policy statement, the organization specified that Phase 1a vaccine recipients should include high-risk healthcare workers, including home healthcare and that those who receive Phase 1b vaccines include older adults and individuals with disabilities living in group homes, multigenerational households, skilled nursing and long-term care facilities. Then, if available, individuals aged 65 or more years not included in prior allocations should receive the vaccines, the organization noted.

Phases 3 and 4 should target the remainder of the adult/young adult population, the ACP noted.
