InnovAge, a leading provider of Program of All-inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE), opened the doors to a new 25,000-square-foot senior care center Wednesday in Roanoke, VA.

The new facility will serve 430 seniors — more than double the number served at a previous center. The new center includes five clinical exam rooms, four day rooms, a dental suite, therapy area and a larger warming kitchen.

The expansion comes at a time when the Biden administration and members of Congress are calling for increased funding to home-and-community-based-services (HCBS), such as PACE which serves people 55 and over who are dually eligible for Medicare and Medicaid.

“The need for caregiver and health services for older Americans is growing. As we transition out of the COVID-19 pandemic, frail seniors and their families, more than ever, are looking to enjoy life in the safety of their own homes and communities,” InnovAge president and CEO Maureen Hewitt said.

Denver-based InnovAge currently serves approximately 6,700 people across 18 centers in five states. The company became publicly traded in March. In May, Hewitt told investors InnovAge planned to open three senior centers in two states by the end of 2022.
