Private insurer Aetna, a division of CVS Health, is launching nationwide virtual primary care to customers. Aetna Virtual Primary Care will offer health services to customers anytime and anywhere they need it.

“The future of digital health solutions is rapidly unfolding,” Dan Finke, Executive Vice President, CVS Health, and President, Aetna, said in a statement. “Aetna Virtual Primary Care is a first-of-its-kind health care solution that provides a simple, affordable, convenient way for eligible members to receive quality primary care from a physician-led care team that knows them and is accessible from virtually anywhere.”

Members will have access to physicians and a coordinated care team of specialists, a continuous relationship with a virtual care physician, preventive care and biometric screenings and in-person visits with in-network healthcare providers with no referral requirements.

Aetna Primary Care will be powered by Teledoc Health, a telehealth platform that has offered services to Aetna clients for more than a decade.
