CareAcademy, a provider of online training for senior care workers, announced on Wednesday a partnership with the Visiting Nurse Service of New York (VNSNY) that will enable an important first for VNSNY members — online courses for achieving and maintaining home care certification.

“With over 6,500 home health aides on the front lines of the COVID-19 pandemic each day, we have constantly examined ways to improve how we deliver care, and how we engage with our workforce to ensure that the vulnerable New Yorkers who depend on us receive the care they need,” said VNSNY President and CEO Dan Savitt. “For the first time, we can provide the critical training our staff requires in a flexible manner, enabling them to safely receive training when and where it is convenient for them. This ensures that our staff is able to execute at the highest level possible as we serve the more than 44,000 people in our care each day.”

The pandemic has expanded telehealth opportunities, both for seniors living at home and the professionals who serve them.
