The 19 women announced today as the inaugural class of Hall of Honor inductees in the McKnight’s Women of Distinction awards program are women who have overseen massive growth at their companies, completed multiple degrees, overcome tragedy or mentored less experienced employees.

The Hall of Honor recognizes executive-level women who have made significant contributions to the senior housing and care fields.

“When we created the Women of Distinction program, we suspected we might tap into unsung heroines within the industry, but we’ve been overwhelmed by the tremendous response,” said Craig Roth, publisher of McKnight’s Senior Living and McKnight’s Long-Term Care News. “These Women of Distinction reflect the phenomenal talent within the industry. It’s a privilege to honor them.”

The Women of Distinction program’s Hall of Honor and Rising Stars award recipients were chosen by an national, independent panel of judges. Rising Stars were announced Wednesday. The Lifetime Achievement honoree will be announced later this month.

All of this year’s honorees will be feted at an evening event May 16 in Chicago. PointClickCare is the program’s exclusive platinum sponsor this year.
