McKnight’s Senior Living has added two more awards to its winnings for 2020.

The brand won first place in the Best Trade Publication Website category of the Ohio’s Best Journalism Contest, sponsored by the Cincinnati, Cleveland and Columbus Society of Professional Journalists chapters statewide. Winners were announced Wednesday.

It’s the third time in the past four years that mcknightsseniorliving.com has won first place in the category. Named on the award were Editor Lois A. Bowers, Editorial Director John O’Connor and Art Director Mark Speakman.

Bowers also won first place in the Best Trade Publication Department category, for the editor’s column that appears in the print magazine. The award marks the second time in the past four years that Bowers has won first place in the category.

Awards were given for work completed in 2019 by professional journalists working at general circulation newspapers and other print publications, television stations, radio stations, digital media and media for trade / business / professional publications with audiences in Ohio or with significant reach in Ohio, as well as to professional freelance journalists and college-student journalists. This year’s entries were judged by journalists from SPJ’s Northwest Excellence in Journalism Contest (Alaska, Washington, Oregon, Montana and Idaho).

Winners will be recognized Nov. 6 at a virtual ceremony.

McKnight’s Senior Living also has won awards in 2020 in competitions from the American Society of Business Publication Editors, the Association of Marketing and Communication Professionals, Communications Concepts and the Press Club of Cleveland.
