McKnight’s Senior Living has been deemed to have the Best Web News Section in the country among business publication websites, according to results of the 2020 American Society of Business Publication Editors’ Azbee Awards of Excellence competition.

McKnight’s Senior Living won a national Silver Award in the Best Web News Section category, which was the highest-level national award given and the only national Silver Award given in the category. Named on the award are Editor Lois A. Bowers, Editorial Director John O’Connor and Art Director Mark Speakman.

In all, McKnight’s Senior Living captured six Azbee Awards in 2020, including the national award and five regional awards. The Azbee competition attracted more than 1,000 entries from across the country, which were judged by more than 75 business-to-business editors and designers. This year’s awards recognize work completed in 2019 by business-to-business, trade, association and professional print and digital publications.

At the regional level, where McKnight’s Senior Living competed against all qualified media outlets from Illinois, Iowa, Minnesota and Wisconsin with entries, McKnight’s Senior Living also won a Silver Award for Best Web News Section, the highest-level award given in all ASBPE regions and the only Silver award given in any region in that category this year.

Additionally, McKnight’s Senior Living earned Silver Awards in the region for Best Print News Section and Best Regular Column, Staff Written — the latter for the Editor’s Column by Bowers appearing in the print magazine. McKnight’s Senior Living also won regional Bronze awards for Best Government Coverage for articles written by Bowers and in the Best E-Newsletter, General Excellence, category.

Sister media brand McKnight’s Long-Term Care News captured a total of 11 national and regional Azbee Awards.
