2 national awards - Silver Azbee badges

McKnight’s Senior Living took home two national awards recognizing the strength of the news content it provides readers Thursday night at the American Society of Business Publication Editors’ annual conference, this year held in Cleveland.

The brand won a Silver Azbee Award of Excellence for the online news section at mcknightsseniorliving.com. It was the highest national award bestowed in the Best Web News Section category.

“We are thrilled that top U.S. journalists have confirmed what we and the long-term care world have known for years: McKnight’s is tops at getting readers the news, analysis and insights to do their jobs better,” McKnight’s Editorial Director John O’Connor said.

Recognized by the award were McKnight’s Senior Living Editor Lois A. Bowers, Content Editor Kimberly Bonvissuto, O’Connor, writers Kathleen Steele Gaivin and Amy Novotney, Art Director Mark Speakman, Graphic Designer Aminah Beg and former Special Projects Coordinator Caroline Szachnowski.

McKnight’s Senior Living also won a Silver Azbee Award for its print magazine news section. Named on the Best Print News Section award were Bowers, O’Connor, Bonvissuto, Novotney and Speakman.

The brand also won four regional awards from ASBPE last month. McKnight’s Senior Living has won 12 national and 39 regional Azbee Awards since 2016, the first year of the competition after the brand expanded on its print publication by adding a website, daily e-newsletter and social media.

ASBPE is the professional association for full-time and freelance editors, writers, art directors and designers employed in the business, trade and specialty press. Its Azbee Awards recognize the best in editorial, design and online achievement.

The three McKnight’s brands captured a combined total of five national awards this year. See additional details on the websites of McKnight’s Long-Term Care News and McKnight’s Home Care.
