When it comes to technology in the senior living and care industry, Mitze Amoroso does it all.

Through her position as senior vice president/chief information officer at ArchCare, where she has worked for more than 21 years, Amoroso continually crafts and implements sophisticated technology solutions. These are solutions that, according to WellSky Sale Director Mitch Morgan, “have boosted productivity, limited risk exposure, and strengthened the company’s competitive position.”

She is responsible for pioneering the industry’s first fully automated automation reporting system for nursing facilities. In 2021, she and her IT team replaced six different nursing homes’ electronic medical record systems in six months — no easy feat.

Many in her company and in her field have recognized her. As an example, she has earned the ArchCare Mission Award for Excellence. Additionally, she serves on the Women in STEM Leadership Advisory Board, Pace University Cyber Advisory Board and Wellsky Post-Acute Care Facilities Advisory Board.

“Mitze has that rare combination of expertise, leadership and problem solving skills, which enables her to fix most problems,” Morgan said.

ArchCare President and CEO Scott LaRue called her a “fixer.” Case in point: In 2020, Amoroso was tasked with overseeing the overhaul of ArchCare’s struggling claims department — despite having no prior experience in the area. With the help of the claims director, Amoroso was able to successfully put together a plan that improved communication and re-established fundamental best practices. Today, that same claims department is thriving.

Despite all her accomplishments and obligations, Amoroso still finds time to help individuals at any level with kindness in mind.

She hosted a Thanksgiving dinner one year for staff members who had nowhere to go for the holidays. She also held a movie night in her backyard for older adults looking to get out of the house during the pandemic. She has delivered home-cooked meals to those living alone.

“Mitze is compassionate and leads by example,” Morgan said.
