Simon Mittal, MD, has been named director of medical affairs for Clinical Outcomes Management Systems (COMS Interactive).

He will work with the company’s clinical team and physician/nursing advisory boards to extend the clinical intelligence and application systems within its clinical decision support software, Daylight IQ, used by assisted living communities. Mittal also will provide his expertise to present on the topics of disease care management and other relevant areas.

The Daylight IQ product suite covers 37 disease categories or afflictions, representing 85 chronic diseases typically seen in skilled nursing and assisted living facilities. These categories are supported with clinical care guides designed to help define processes provided at the time of care to the nursing staff to manage and improve outcomes. Physicians can connect to the system remotely for reviewing resident profiles and modifying care plans.
