Issaquah, WA-based Highgate Senior Living has partnered with Boston-based Eversound to offer the company’s audio technology system in its nine independent living, assisted living and memory care communities.

Eversound’s patented wireless headphone system is specifically designed to meet the needs of older adults and provide an enhanced listening experience compared with conventional hearing aids, to enable all residents to watch movies and presentations and participate in other group activities.

“We have many residents with a wide range of hearing challenges, and we knew if they were able to hear what was being said, they would be more involved” said Angie Larrabee, life enhancement programming manager at Highgate Senior Living. “Once we saw how simple Eversound was and the impact it would have, we were sold and had to have it.”

Highgate’s communities are located in Arizona, California, Montana and Washington.

“Hearing loss is a natural part of the aging process, but when it is left unaddressed, it has been linked to mental decline, social isolation and depression,” Matt Reiners, vice president of customer impact and co-founder of Eversound, said. “With the 65+ population nearly doubling by 2050, we are excited to support one of the top leading senior living communities to address such a critical need.”
