Inovonics smoke detector

Inovonics has debuted its new EN1243 smoke/heat detector as part of its senior living product portfolio.

EN1243 notifies caregivers through an e-call system when levels of heat or smoke are detected.

“We’ve been working with Inovonics for years because their wireless network and detectors give us the optimal combination of range, coverage and reliability our senior living customers require for their Situational Awareness and Response Assistant (SARA) systems,” said Mike MacLeod, founder and president of Status Solutions.

The EN1243 smoke/heat detector has two heat detection methods: A fixed heat detection, which sets off alarms when the temperature reaches 135 degrees Fahrenheit. The second measures rate of rise, sounding off if the temperature increases at a rate of 15 degrees per minute from a starting temperature of 105 degrees Fahrenheit.
