The LeadingAge Center for Aging Services Technologies has updated its medication management portfolio with an expanded product and vendor matrix and two new case studies. These free tools are designed to help providers identify and select the medication management technology solutions that best fit their needs.

“This updated portfolio of tools is a great resource to anyone interested in reducing medication errors and improving the accuracy and timeliness of medication management and documentation,” said Majd Alwan, Ph.D., senior vice president for technology of LeadingAge and executive director of CAST.

The portfolio updates:

  • A whitepaper with a new interactive online guide designed to help organizations understand different medication management technology solutions, their uses and benefits, the planning process and the most important functionalities providers need to consider when selecting a medication management technology solution.
  • An enhanced product selection matrix and online selection tool that compares 27 different products to help providers better understand functionalities offered in commercially available medication management solutions. This year, the product selection matrix also is published in Excel format to allow providers to sort and delete products and perform side-by-side functionality comparisons of only products of interest to them.
  • Two new case studies that provide real-life examples from the Regina Health Center, an assisted living and skilled nursing facility, and Ohana Pacific, a continuing care retirement / life plan community, of how they implemented medication management technologies.
