Kimberly Gordy

“Mobile tech: Friend or foe in the senior living workplace?” will be the topic when Kimberly Gordy, an associate at the law firm BakerHostetler and a trained clinical ethicist, speaks this Thursday at the 1 p.m. ET session of the McKnight’s Senior Living Online Expo.

Participants listening live will be able to earn a continuing education credit.

Gordy’s presentation will educate attendees about the “3 B’s” of using mobile technology in senior living — Basic Capabilities, Business Associates and Bombshells — and offer a few words of warning.

Attendees will learn:

  • Best practices for incorporating smartphones into a senior living community.
  • When a senior living community should enter into a business associate agreement with an app provider.
  • Areas of risk and how to manage the unique challenges of using this technology in senior living.

The virtual doors to the Online Expo will open at 10:30 a.m. ET with the opportunity for attendees to network with peers and visit the online exhibition hall featuring products and services from companies serving the senior living profession.

The event also will feature two additional webinars, both of which will offer CE credits to those who listen live. Webinar participants also will be able to visit the booths before and after the CE sessions.
