Senior living and health organizations are looking to spend more on preventing cyber attacks, a new survey finds. Operators increasingly also are willing to invest in telehealth expansion.
Those were key findings in a just-released Center for Connected Medicine survey. Officials from almost 40 organizations responded.
Among the results:
- Fully 87% of respondents plan to increase spending on cybersecurity in 2019; not a single respondent planned to reduce outlays there.
- Executives expect internal funding and patient payments will provide most funding for telehealth in 2019.
- Seven in 10 executives said they were “somewhat concerned” about big tech firms such as Apple, Amazon or Google disrupting the healthcare market; 10% indicated they were “very concerned.”
