U.S. News & World Report and senior care resource and referral service Caring are collaborating on a directory with data on more than 8,700 assisted living communities, including memory care programs, the companies announced this week.

The platform is an expansion of their Nursing Homes Search, which users can access from the same page.

The new directory offers information about health services, activities and amenities offered at each community as well as reviews by family members and residents (who are referred to as “patients”). Users can search by location, resident rating and size (beds, not units) and are referred to Caring advisers for additional information.

The consumer site also has articles about when older adults should consider assisted living, the specific factors that make for the best assisted living communities and how assisted living can improve older adults’ quality of life.
