A woman possessing 1,000 individual doses of heroin and 15 vials of crack cocaine was arrested Jan. 13 in a New Jersey retirement community, according to police.
Detectives from the Berkeley Township Police Department and the Ocean County Prosecutors Office Major Crimes Unit visited the Holiday City/Silver Ridge adult community Jan. 12 as part of a narcotics distribution investigation. Based on information obtained that day, they returned the next day, at which time they stopped a vehicle being driven by Veronica Gasman. The drugs, which were packaged for distribution, subsequently were found, according to police.
Gasman was charged with possession of heroin and possession of heroin with the intent to distribute and was taken to the Ocean County Jail.
