A fair attendee talks with a representative from the Eden Alternative at St. John's holistic fair.

Independent living communities St. John’s Meadows and Brickstone by St. John’s in Rochester, NY, recently held a holistic approach fair with more than 15 vendors for residents.

Residents learned about massage therapy, acupuncture, nutrition, reiki, essential oils, animal rehabilitation and other topics. Many received a free hand massage, met a therapy dog, sampled holistic foods and tried essential oils. The fair also featured a representative from the Eden Alternative as well as Al Power, MD, an author and expert on dementia treatment.

The event was designed to give residents the opportunity to explore ways to embrace living in healthy and holistic ways.
