In the 1940s, Ruth Feinstein was a young high school student who just happened to have a talent with the typewriter. She was recognized for winning an essay contest in a write-up in the local newspaper but set aside her writing ambitions.

Recently, however, Feinstein proved that it’s never too late to live a long-forgotten dream. When she moved to Harrogate, a Lakewood, NJ, continuing care retirement / life plan community, she was pleased to learn that another resident had started a community newspaper, The Harrogate Courier. She was further delighted when she was asked to join the team, first as a proofreader and then as a contributing writer.

Feinstein’s journalistic journey even recently took her to Broadway, and she wrote about her experiences seeing a show on opening night and attending the cast party afterward.
