Residents at Monroe Village, a Springpoint Senior Living community in Monroe Township, NJ, have been staying in shape since March by playing a series of hockey games during the NHL season and the Stanley Cup Playoffs.
The team activity is part of the Springpoint LivWell program at the community. The program features customized plans for residents that are based on their likes and goals.
Games are three periods of 10 minutes each, with a five-minute break in between periods. In this case, Team Yellow won 5-4 after third periods.
The activity has been popular, according to Monroe Village, so plans are in place to incorporate the hockey activity into other fitness events.
