How much help do assisted living residents need?

On average, residents need help with 1.7 activities of daily living, or ADLs. More specifically:

• 68 percent require assistance with bathing.

• 47 percent require assistance with dressing. 

• 27 percent require assistance with toileting.

• 22 percent require assistance with transferring.

• 13 percent require assistance with eating.
