McKnight’s Senior Living has won four regional awards in the American Society for Business Publication Editors’ 2017 Azbee Awards competition. The awards were presented Thursday evening at an event in Chicago.

This year’s contest recognizes business-to-business journalism produced in 2016.

Blogs by Senior Editor Lois A. Bowers won two Silver Awards, in the Blogs – Analysis/Commentary and Blogs – How-to / Tips / Service categories.

Additionally, Bowers won a Silver Award in the Enterprise News Story category for an article she wrote about a drug disposal rule proposed by the Environmental Protection Agency.

And she won a Bronze Award in the Photo Gallery/Slide Show category for an online slide show she created to accompany a blog about steps senior living communities can take to make a good first impression on prospective residents and their families.

McKnight’s Senior Living competes in the Upper Midwest region of the competition; the region includes Illinois, Iowa, Minnesota and Wisconsin.

Bowers’ blogs also are up for two national ASBPE awards, which will be presented May 18 at the organization’s annual conference in St. Petersburg, FL. Sister media brand McKnight’s Long-Term Care News earned five regional awards Thursday night and is up for four national ones.
