Nearly four months into the year, a 2015 calendar sporting nude photographs of the residents of Pleasant Pointe Assisted Living in Akron, OH, are still flying out the door — so much so that a second printing was ordered.

The male and female residents, most in their 80s and 90s, decided to make the calendar to raise funds for the local Kiwanis club and its effort to buy new shoes for school children in a nearby town.

It’s unclear whether to residents were inspired by the 2003 film, “Calendar Girls,” or several other recent nursing home pinup projects (some with clothing, some without). But facility leaders said they noted a decided skip to residents’ step while doing it. An initial printing of 500 sold out.

The monthly pinup subjects feature one resident covered only by a large exercise ball, another two women in their 90s playing poker with “strategically placed oversize cards” and another soaking in a bubble bath and flower petals, with chocolates and lingerie nearby, according to published reports.

To order the $12 calendar, contact the facility to make arrangements.
