There were 47 nonprofit owner/sponsor transactions in the third quarter, according to speciality investment bank Ziegler. The organization expects total deals for the year to be similar to 2015.
In about one-third of the transactions, one nonprofit transferred sponsorship to another nonprofit.
The firm released the findings at a recent Ziegler Senior Living Finance + Strategy Conference, which was attended primarily by financial officers representing nonprofit organizations.
