Participants in an Oct. 4 McKnight's Senior Living webinar will earn one CE credit while learning about emerging trends in Alzheimer's disease and how one senior living operator is using Montessori principles to increase resident engagement in memory care.

“Reimaging Memory Care” will begin at 1 p.m. ET.

Speaker Doug Pace, director of mission partnerships for the Alzheimer's Association, will share the latest facts and figures related to Alzheimer's disease, why detection and diagnosis are important and what resources are available to support people with Alzheimer's disease and their caregivers.

Speaker Amy Birkel, vice president of Heritage Senior Communities, will provide an overview of Montessori principles and why Heritage Communities chose the model. Attendees will learn about Heritage Senior Communities' Portraits Program for memory care residents, hear how the company tracks progress of the program and learn about the company's future plans for the program.
