Jill Bosa named chief operating officer at Wingate Healthcare

Jill Bosa has been appointed chief operating officer of Wingate Healthcare, a Needham, MA-based operator of short-term rehab, post-acute care and long-term care in skilled nursing centers and assisted and independent living communities in Massachusetts, Rhode Island and New York.

Bosa joins Wingate with more than 20 years of healthcare industry experience. Before Wingate, Bosa was COO of the nursing center division for Kindred Healthcare, where she provided operational oversight for more than 100 skilled nursing facilities, assisted living communities and sub-acute care centers across 20 states. In addition, she has held executive leadership positions with Signature Healthcare and Extendicare Health Services.

In 2008, during her tenure as senior director of operations for Kindred Healthcare, Bosa was named a Future Leader of America in Long-Term Care by the American Health Care Association.

Bosa holds an undergraduate degree in occupational therapy from the University of New England and a master’s degree in health administration from Ohio University.

Art Keup is chief financial officer, Jason Wilson is director of operations at Luther Manor

Art Keup (pictured) has been named chief financial officer and Jason Wilson has been named director of operations, at Luther Manor, a life plan community headquartered in Wauwatosa, WI, with independent living, assisted living and skilled nursing care, and Luther Manor at River Oaks assisted living in Mequon, WI.

Keup, a graduate of University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh, brings to his new role 22 years of experience in the long-term care industry, primarily in the areas of revenue management and reimbursement, financial analysis, forecasting and budgeting. Most recently, he was the director of reimbursement services at Fortis Management Group, overseeing all aspects of the revenue cycle, including Medicare, Medicaid and managed care contracts.

Wilson, alsi a graduate of UW-Oshkosh, previously worked for the South Milwaukee Police Department, Lakeland College and Bayshore Town Center. As director of operations, he will be in charge of coordinating housekeeping, maintenance and grounds, transportation, reception and security.

Sara Kyle, Ph.D., joins Holiday Retirement as director of resident experience

Sara Kyle, Ph.D., has joined Winter Park, FL-based Holiday Retirement as director of resident experience to improve the well-being and engagement of the company’s residents.

Kyle has more than 10 years of experience creating wellness programs and initiatives to help older people live better. Before joining Holiday, she was employed by Senior Care Centers in Dallas, where she oversaw resident wellness activities and developed programs to improve quality of life for older adults as director of resident wellness. Kyle also served on the faculty for more than a decade at LeTourneau University in Longview, TX, where she taught kinesiology and education.

Kyle will work with Bill Thomas, M.D., Holiday’s chief wellness officer, to develop resident programs rooted in the Eden Alternative. She will help educate associates at Holiday’s 260+ retirement communities.

“Senior living is moving away from its historic focus on leisure and toward a greater commitment to more active lifestyles with an emphasis on wellness and well-being,” Thomas said.

Kyle received a doctorate in kinesiology from Texas Woman’s University; and a master’s in sport and recreation management, and a bachelor’s in exercise science, both from Hardin-Simmons University in Abilene, TX.  

Aaron Roop named executive director at Asbury Place Kingsport

Aaron Roop has been named executive director of the Kingsport campus of Asbury Communities.

He now is responsible for overseeing the continuing care retirement community, which includes residential villas and apartments, assisted living and a healthcare center with rehabilitation services. Roop joins Asbury Place as it begins operating under a new long-term care model inspired by a traditional family home; the resident-centered care approach is designed to resemble life at home and to allow residents who live there to direct their daily lives.

Roop comes to Asbury Place from Medical Facilities of America, where he had served as an administrator at several communities since 2010. He most recently was with Parham Healthcare & Rehabilitation Center in Richmond, VA, a 180-bed skilled nursing community with more than 160 employees.

Roop earned an undergraduate degree in business administration from the University of Virginia’s College at Wise and an MBA from King College.

Charles James named executive director at the Residence at Melrose Station

Charles James has been named executive director at the Residence at Melrose Station, an LCB Senior Living community offering independent living, assisted living and memory care in Melrose, MA.

James has several years of experience in operations management within the senior living industry, having served as an executive director for several senior living communities. Before joining LCB, he was an executive director at a Life Care Services community.

Reneé Mayo appointed executive director at Inspira Arrowhead

Reneé Mayo has been appointed executive director at Inspira Arrowhead in Glendale, AZ, the first branded community from the joint venture between P.B. Bell and Cadence Senior Living. The community is scheduled to open in January 2019.

In her role, Mayo will be responsible for all aspects of the community, including initial lease-up and implementing Cadence’s core lifestyle programs.

She brings extensive senior living leadership experience to the position. Before joining the Inspira team, Mayo served in progressively advancing roles at Beztak Properties, where she was responsible for leasing and marketing before becoming executive director at Casa Del Rio.

Nic Scheibel joins Allegro as executive director in Richmond Heights, MO

Nic Scheibel has joined Allegro as executive director of the 87-unit assisted living and memory care community scheduled to open late this year in Richmond Heights, MO. He will oversee the operations of the community.

Scheibel has held several director positions in a wide range of communities, including skilled care, assisted living, supportive living, home health and adult day. He was recently honored when the Illinois Department of Aging asked him to train other healthcare providers in the state.

Tasha Thomas named memory care director at Benchmark’s New Pond Village

Tasha Thomas has been named Harbor Care director at New Pond Village, a Benchmark Senior Living community in Walpole, MA.

Thomas will oversee the soon-to-be-completed Harbor Care Memory Center, which will offer an additional step in the continuum of care to the independent and assisted living services offerings at New Pond Village. She joins the team with almost a decade of managerial experience in memory care support and healthcare.

Before arriving at New Pond Village, Thomas ran two memory care units at an assisted living community in Vermont. She also has worked for a home care agency, providing oversight to caregivers, educational support in memory care to families and on-the-job training opportunities to grow a supportive culture.

Thomas has an undergraduate degree in nursing from St. Joseph’s College of Maine and a certificate from the National Council of Certified Dementia Practitioners.

Alyssa Mackey named sales and marketing director of the Residence at Salem Woods

Alyssa Mackey has been named sales and marketing director at the Residence at Salem Woods, an LCB Senior Living community offering independent living, assisted living and memory care in Salem, NH.

She previously was Reflections memory care director at the community. Mackey also has several additional years of experience within the senior living and healthcare industries, including roles involving nursing, LNA instruction and management of memory care neighborhoods.

Jason Dopoulos promoted to senior managing director at Lancaster Pollard

Jason Dopoulos has been promoted to senior managing director at Columbus, OH-based Lancaster Pollard.

Dopoulos joined Lancaster Pollard in 2007 and has managed the firm’s healthcare bankers in the Southwest since 2013. As part of his new role, he will now oversee banking efforts for the Northwest as well. As regional manager for the western United States, Dopoulos will oversee Lancaster Pollard’s regional offices in Newport Beach, CA; Denver; and Bozeman, MT.

Matt Lindsay, senior vice president with the firm, will continue to be responsible for clients in Oregon, Washington and Alaska. Rob McAdams, vice president, will be responsible for clients in Colorado, Idaho, Montana and Wyoming. Ross Holland, vice president, will be the main point of contact for clients in Arizona, New Mexico, Utah and central California. Grant Goodman, vice president, will serve clients in Nevada and northern California.

Dopoulos has served as the chairman of the National Investment Center for Seniors Housing and Care’s Future Leaders Council. He holds a master’s degree in business from the Fisher School of Business at The Ohio State University and a master’s in health administration from The Ohio State University College of Public Health.
