Glenn D. Fox joins Acts as senior vice president, general counsel

Glenn D. Fox has been named senior vice president, general counsel, at Acts Retirement–Life Communities. He will oversee all legal matters for the West Point, PA-based not-for-profit senior living organization, which has 21 communities in eight states that are home to more than 8,600 residents.

Fox has been Acts’ outside corporate counsel and chief legal adviser for the past 20 years. He has been a partner at several national and regional law firms, most recently Saul Ewing LLP in Philadelphia. He has more than 30 years of experience representing numerous business and nonprofit organizations in corporate, transactional, tax and financial matters.

Fox earned an undergraduate degree in accounting and a law degree from Temple University and his LL.M. (Master of Laws degree) in taxation from Villanova University. He also is a certified public accountant.

The Brielle at Seaview names general manager, director of community relations

Allison Nidetz has been appointed general manager of The Brielle at Seaview in New York City (Staten Island), and Kathy Azbell, LMSW, has been named director of community relations.

Nidetz has more than 25 years of experience in the long-term care and aging services industry. She has been a member of the New York Association of Homes and Services for the Aging’s home- and community-based services subcommittee, the National Institute on Community-Based Long-Term Care, the National PACE Association and the National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization.

Azbell has more than 20 years of experience in the healthcare industry, including senior living communities, hospice and home care. She has a Master’s in Social Work degree from the Silberman School of Social Work at Hunter College, New York City, and has been active with the East Side Council on the Aging and the Brooklyn-Wide Interagency Council of the Aging.

“Ms. Nidetz and Ms. Azbell, along with the whole Brielle team, bring a vast understanding and commitment to our holistic view of wellness and successful aging,” said Kristin Kutac-Ward, president and CEO of Solvere Senior Living, which recently began managing the assisted living and memory care community. The Brielle is sponsored by and was developed by the nonprofit Metropolitan Council on Jewish Poverty.

The Brielle, constructed in 2015, has a total of 188 beds in one- and two-bedroom apartments in its 103,000-square-foot community, which is located on 10 acres. Solvere’s marketing goal for the community is near full occupancy by the end of 2017.

Jean Norte named executive director of Bridges by Epoch at Westwood

Jean Norte has been named executive director of Bridges by Epoch at Westwood in Westwood, MA.

Norte has experience in senior healthcare and in overseeing all aspects of operations at senior living communities. Before joining the Epoch assisted living and memory care community, she served as traditional care director at The Falls at Cordingly Dam, a Benchmark Senior Living community in Newton, MA. She became executive director of that community in 2014.

Avery Bredice joins ACHCA as director of professional advancement

Avery Bredice has joined the American College of Health Care Administrators as director of professional advancement.

Bredice brings more than 20 years of experience in nonprofit association management — specializing in education, certification, marketing and membership — to the position. She has direct association experience in healthcare leadership as well as in cybersecurity.

She received her Master’s in Nonprofit Management degree from Regis University in 1998.

Jeff Niles named vice president of sales and marketing at Caremerge

Jeff Niles has been named vice president of sales and marketing at Chicago-based Caremerge, which offers a cloud-based care coordination network for the senior living industry.

Before joining Caremerge, Niles was the vice president of sales and marketing for ShiftWise, a provider of software-as-a-service-based vendor management system technology in the healthcare industry. Before working for ShiftWise, he held numerous sales leadership roles in the staffing industry.

Niles has a master’s degree in counseling from the University of Cincinnati and an undergraduate degree in psychology from Miami University in Athens, OH.

Amy Hayman joins senior living finance group at Piper Jaffray

Amy Hayman has joined investment bank and asset management firm Piper Jaffray Companies as a managing director in its public finance group. She will be based in the firm’s Chicago office and will focus on clients in the healthcare and senior living sector.

Hayman has more than 27 years of banking experience, having completed more than 100 transactions totaling more than $3 billion in par value. She joins the firm from Cain Brothers, where she served as a managing director and a member of its president’s advisory council. Before joining Cain Brothers, Hayman was a vice president at B.C. Ziegler and Co., specializing in senior living finance. Prior to that, she spent seven years in corporate banking. From 2004 to 2015, she served as a member of the financial advisory panel for CARF/CCAC.
