Eversound is unveiling its latest product, the GLS 2.0 wireless group listening system, in booth 1041 during exhibit hours at the Argentum Senior Living Executive Conference in Denver. The GLS 2.0 joins a select group of products under consideration for special recognition at the conference as part of the “Fast and Furious” new product competition.

The GLS 2.0 is the first wireless group listening system designed specifically for older adults, helping them hear clearly during movies, presentations and group events, according to the Manchester, NH-based Eversound, a 2015 participant in Cornell University's eLab business accelerator.

“Hearing loss is a natural part of the aging process, but when it is left unaddressed, it has been linked to mental decline, social isolation and depression,” said Jake Reisch, CEO and co-founder of Eversound. “With the 65+ population nearly doubling by 2050, we are excited to support some of the leading senior living communities to address such a critical need.”

Reisch even lived in a senior living community as a college student to try to better understand older adults' needs and wants related to listening systems, he told McKnight's Senior Living.

The GLS 2.0 systems, which are sold in multiples of 10 headphone sets, include a compact wireless transmitter that broadcasts the audio signal from almost any common audio source to all Eversound headphones within a range of 300 feet. The headphones are designed to provide improved audio to listeners by concentrating on clear delivery of frequencies that typically are first affected by age-related hearing loss. They also feature controls that are designed to be intuitive and ergonomic, and independent volume adjustment to allow every user to listen to audio content customized to his or her individual needs. They are compatible with hearing aids, too.

The first GLS 2.0 systems are expected to be available for delivery in June.

Eversound has raised more than $1.4 million since launch from strategic angel investors including the chief operating officer of Bayada Home Health Care, David Baiada, an executive vice president at Shelter Group; David Carliner, who operates more than 70 senior living communities; and members of the Red Bear Angel Group.

Exhibit hall hours are 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday and 10:15 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Lunch will be served in the hall on both days.
