JEA Senior Living has announced plans to make Eversound’s patented wireless headphone system available to residents at all of its 50 senior living communities.

The system is designed to enhance the listening experience of older adults compared with conventional hearing aids, to facilitate participation in group activities.

“One of JEA’s founding philosophies, and a vital element for memory care communities, is to add meaning and value to our residents’ day while helping them feel comfortable in their environment” said Rachel Kohl, vice president of program development of JEA Senior Living. “We’ve seen the Eversound headphones measurably improve engagement and the ability to understand and drive deeper socialization during group events. Seeing our residents and their family member’s faces light up at the ability to communicate again is indescribable.”

The system will be offered for use by independent living, assisted living and skilled nursing residents as well.

“The dramatic improvement that comes from giving the gift of hearing is incredible for everyone — staff, residents, and loved ones alike,” said Alex Wilson, director of resident impact for Eversound. “The results are automatic, which immediately increases the morale of both the staff and residents significantly.”

JEA, based in Vancouver, WA, has communities in 23 states and Ontario.
