National HealthCare Corp. has selected MatrixCare as its enterprise electronic health record platform partner.

The product initially will be rolled out to all corporate and skilled nursing locations across its regions of operation.

“We conducted a thorough review of available options and concluded that MatrixCare’s products and strategies align very well with our goals and objectives,” NHC CEO Steve Flatt said. “Their willingness to share risk and reward based on patient-centered quality and success criteria creates a true partnership and leverages technology in new ways to better serve our patients and residents.”

NHC affiliates operate for themselves and for third parties 24 assisted living communities, five independent living communities, 76 skilled nursing centers and 36 home care programs. The company also operates memory care units, long-term care pharmacies, a hospice and a rehabilitation services company. Additionally, NHC affiliates provide financial and accounting services to three assisted living communities and 17 skilled nursing facilities.

“The long-term/post-acute care industry continues the journey to value-based care with leading organizations employing regionally focused, fully integrated delivery systems well positioned to assume and manage risk in care delivery,” said MatrixCare President and CEO John Damgaard.
