Eleanor Feldman Barbera, Ph.D., a licensed psychologist consulting in long-term care communities, will kick off the free educational sessions of the 2019 McKnight’s Senior Living Online Expo at 11 a.m. ET this Thursday with a session titled “Behavioral health in senior living: Improving practices, reducing risk.”

Participants listening live will be able to earn a continuing education credit.

Barbera will discuss the types of behavioral health problems typically seen in senior living communities and the effects of untreated behavioral health symptoms on residents, staff and organizational culture. Attendees will learn behavioral management advice to improve care quality, enhance organizational culture and reduce liability risk.

The virtual doors to the Online Expo will open at 10:30 a.m. ET with the opportunity for attendees to network with peers and visit the online exhibition hall featuring products and services from companies serving the senior living profession.

The event also will feature two additional webinars, both of which will offer CE credits to those who listen live. Webinar participants also will be able to visit the booths before and after the CE sessions.
