Erickson Advantage, Erickson Senior Living’s resident-only Medicare Advantage plan, has received top recognition from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services for the second consecutive year.
The company received a five out of five stars from CMS in its annual Star Quality Ratings for 2022, which measures the quality and experiences of beneficiaries in Medicare Advantage and Part D plans. Erickson Advantage has been in operation since 2005, offering residents six options.
“Erickson Advantage is one of only a few providers to operate under Medicare guidelines for [continuing care retirement communities] that enable us to limit enrollment to those who reside in an Erickson Senior Living community and tailor plans to the specific needs of those residents,” an Erickson spokeswoman told the McKnight’s Business Daily.
“Our plans offer many additional services not covered by original Medicare, including vision, dental, hearing/hearing aids and transportation benefits,” said Matthew Narrett, M.D., chief medical officer at Erickson Senior Living.
Erickson Advantage added a fitness benefit “that focuses on both the physical and mental health and well-being” in 2021. For 2022, the company is adding a Part B premium rebate and a $0 specialist copay benefit to select plans, as well as a new telehealth benefit.
Residents at any of Erickson Senior Living-managed CCRC — there are 19 communities across 11 states — are eligible for Erickson Advantage. The plan has more than 5,000 members.
“Among residents not covered by employer-paid retiree benefits or other plans, nearly half choose an Erickson Advantage plan,” the spokeswoman said.
