Covenant Living names Jay Prince SVP of community operations
Jay Prince has been named the senior vice president of community operations at Skokie, IL-based Covenant Living.
Prince has 20 years of experience in senior living and healthcare. Most recently, he was president and CEO at a senior living community in Kalamazoo, MI, for 10 years. In addition, he has worked with for-profit and nonprofit organizations, single and multisite senior living communities, and home health and hospice businesses.
Prince is a past board chair for LeadingAge Michigan.
Sagewood promotes 2, hires 1
Stewart Ingram has been promoted to the position of regional operations manager for Life Care Services. He has been working for continuing care retirement community Sagewood and its parent company, LCS, for more than 31 years and was Sagewood’s executive director for 17 years.
Promoted to succeed Ingram as Sagewood executive director is Ed Smith. Smith has been with Sagewood since 2018 and has more than 19 years of experience in the senior living industry. Prior to his new position, Smith was Sagewood’s associate executive director.
Matt Phipps has been hired to succeed Smith. Phipps has more than 10 years of experience working for LCS.
Broadview hires administrative services, environmental services directors
Charlotte Manor recently joined Broadview at Purchase College as its administrative services director, and Crystal Mason joined as its environmental services director.
The university-based retirement community on the campus of the State University of New York at Purchase College is expected to open this fall. Broadview is being co-developed by Senior Care Development and LCS Development and will be operated by Life Care Services.
Manor’s professional experience includes serving as associate membership and marketing director at the New Rochelle YMCA, where she led the maintenance, fitness, and front desk staff. Before joining the nonprofit sector, she operated a marketing and design business serving local churches and organizations. She also worked in technology for companies such as Gartner and Sprint/Nextel.
Manor holds an undergraduate degree in business administration with a concentration in marketing from Iona University and a master’s degree in organizational leadership from Manhattan College.
Mason brings to her new role experience in facilities and environmental services gained at large healthcare institutions, including the James Cancer Center at the Ohio State Wexner Medical Center and Cri Research Campus at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.
Before joining Broadview, Mason was the senior operations manager at Wexner Medical Center, a 1,000-bed regional cancer research and treatment center where she managed a department of 300 employees. She also worked as operations manager at the University at North Carolina, where she contributed to efforts that earned the school its Campus of Distinction title.
Manor earned an undergraduate degree in human services/administration from Kaplan University in Des Moines, IA, and a master’s degree in public policy and management from the John Glenn College of Public Affairs at Ohio State University. She is Six Sigma certified and holds certificates in CHEST from OSU and the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.
Erickson promotes Angelo Nardoni to associate executive director at Fox Run
Angelo Nardoni has been promoted to the position of associate executive director at Fox Run, an Erickson Senior Living-managed community in Novi, MI.
Nardoni brings 23 years of experience in the hospitality and dining industries to his new role. He holds a hospitality business degree from Michigan State University.
LTC Properties names David Gruber to board of directors
David Gruber has been elected to the board of directors for Westlake Village, CA-based real estate investment trust LTC Properties. The move increases the total number of directors from six to seven, six of whom are independent.
Gruber brings experience in corporate finance, governance and compliance to the role, having served as managing director, head of equity capital markets for KeyBanc Capital Markets for more than 20 years, where he chaired and was a member of the bank’s Equity Commitment and Capital Commitment Committees. Under his leadership, Gruber’s team helped execute more than 1,100 equity transactions, raising more than $500 billion in equity capital, according to LTC.
Gruber holds a Bachelor of Science degree in finance from Kent State University, Kent, OH.
Anita Faulmann re-elected FHCA president
Anita Faulmann has been re-elected as president of the Florida Health Care Association. As president, she will lead the association’s 30-member board, which includes 16 district presidents from across the state.
Faulmann is the regional director of operations–Florida for Excelsior Care Group, which manages seven skilled nursing and rehabilitation facilities across Florida. She has worked in long-term care for more than 35 years, first as a recreational therapist then moving up the career ladder to nursing home administration and, ultimately, directing regional operations.
Faulmann previously served on the FHCA Executive Committee as senior vice president, treasurer and secretary, and she also has chaired the association’s Workforce and Annual Conference committees. She is a graduating member of the FHCA Florida Leaders program and the American Health Care Association/National Center for Assisted Living Future Leaders in Long Term Care.
Faulmann will be joined on the FHCA Executive Committee by the following officers:

LeadingAge Florida announces newly elected board
LeadingAge Florida has announced the election of its new board of trustees and the installation of its new board chair.
Garry Hennis, chief operating officer for Westminster Communities of Florida, took over as the chair during LeadingAge Florida’s recent 60th Annual Convention and Exposition in Orlando, FL. He succeeds Bruce Jones, CEO of Vicar’s Landing in Ponte Vedra Beach, FL.

NCAL announces 2023 award recipients
The National Center for Assisted Living has announced the honorees of its 2023 awards program, recognizing those deemed to represent the best in the assisted living sector. “These honorees demonstrate a commitment to excellence and improve the lives of older adults and individuals with disabilities in their communities,” the association said.
The NCAL Leader of the Year Award winner for 2023 is Cecilia Owsley, chief operating officer and chief nursing officer at Guardian Angel Homes, Post Falls, ID.
The NCAL Noble Caregiver Award winner for 2023 is Marty Duncan, office manager of Lakeview Assisted Living, Battle Creek, MI.
