Jamie Dlatt is not your typical vice president of operations. Instead of conducting her work from inside her office, she makes sure she is in Legacy Healthcare’s facilities every day, connecting with staff and keeping on top of day-to-day operations.
She started with the company 10 years ago as administrator and has grown professionally along with the company. Legacy Healthcare has sprouted from two facilities to 30 with 5,000 employees during her time. Today, she works alongside the chief operating officer to ensure all operations are running smoothly.
She is a firm believer in mentorship and has created an administrator-in-training program to foster growth towards leadership positions, with a special emphasis on moving women up the ranks. Dlatt has personally seen two classes go through the multi-month course, which is designed to get people ready to run a healthcare facility. As a result, the company has been able to fill administrators with home-grown talent more often. About 75% of Legacy Healthcare’s administrators are women, many mentored by Dlatt.
She is a licensed nursing home administrator, a certified resident assessment coordinator and a certified dementia practitioner.
The devoted mother and wife also has worked with the Health Care Council of Illinois (HCCI), an advocacy group working to bridge nursing homes with policy makers to create
