Brookdale Senior Living on Friday reported four consecutive months of occupancy growth across its network of senior living communities and said that June’s month-end occupancy percentage was almost 100 basis points (1%) better than the prior month-end.
The consolidated month-end occupancy for the second quarter of 2021 was 70.5%, according to the company’s recent report. This level is up from the first quarter average of 69.6%.
The numbers are still down from a year ago, however. Last month’s weighted average was 72.6%, compared with 76.6% in June 2020.
The Brentwood, TN-based company said that it will continue to publish monthly occupancy reports in an effort to provide additional visibility until it returns to providing financial guidance, at which time it will resume its traditional reporting practices.
