It reportedly is the first acquisition for the company, founded in January 2021 by industry veteran Larry Cohen, who retired as CEO of Capital Senior Living (now known as Sonida Senior Living) in January 2019.

The new, 67-unit senior living community, Branded as Trustwell Living of Springfield, previously was known as Bickford of Springfield

“We are excited to announce this acquisition and welcome the residents, team members and families to the Trustwell Living family,” Cohen stated. “We look forward to delivering Trustwell’s seasoned approach to personalized care, exceptional services and programs. At Trustwell Living communities, the goal is the same … to be a community where family cares for family.”

The company said it will begin making capital improvements to the community this summer, including changes to common areas, residents’ units and the addition of a memory care neighborhood. The addition of memory care to the service line will allow the community to better meet the needs of residents and the community of Springfield at large, according to Trustwell.
