The McKnight’s Women of Distinction Awards and Forum last week offered an energizing and insightful day of networking, learning and celebrating as we honored five dozen women for their contributions to long-term care (see our coverage here)! Events on the horizon will recognize achievements in the area of technology.

The McKnight’s Excellence in Technology Awards program is returning for another year, but this time bigger and better than ever, with expanded categories and more opportunities to win and celebrate innovative efforts in senior living, skilled nursing and home care.

Providers and vendors now have 16 categories in which they may enter, with Gold, Silver and Bronze awards to be granted, as warranted. Included are opportunities for provider-devised programs, not-yet-to-market innovations and programs and innovations already in use.

Along with some of the categories from the past (Building Bridges, Innovator of the Year, Quality and KISS) there also will be newer categories, pertaining to, but not limited to, electronic health records, resident/patient monitoring and safety, medication management, staff scheduling, care planning, falls management, care planning and more.

The portal is open now to accept your entries, with an early entry deadline of this Friday, May 24, that will provide savings on entrance fees. (The standard deadline will be July 1, and the extended deadline will be July 9, so you’ll have more time, although both of those deadlines will have slight entry fee increases.)

We’ll announce finalists Aug. 14, and winners will be unveiled Oct. 3 during the virtual McKnight’s Tech Awards + Summit, which will include educational webinars — details to come!

There also will be opportunities to celebrate winners in-person. In addition, victors will be featured in coverage both online and in print. Winners will be recognized across McKnight’s Senior Living, McKnight’s Long-Term Care News and McKnight’s Home Care and all their social and traditional media platforms.

You can get more details about this year’s competition here or go directly to the entry portal here, and you can read coverage of past McKnight’s Excellence in Technology Award winners here.
