Naperville, IL-based Charter Senior Living has assumed management of 13 former Cedarhurst Senior Living communities in Illinois and Wisconsin.

“We are thrilled to add these 13 communities to the Charter family,” co-founder and CEO Keven Bennema said in an emailed press release. “We’re all eager to support the exceptional staff at our newest communities and provide them with access to Charter’s well-established team of respected and experienced leadership who are all committed to their continued success.”

The communities offer a mix of independent living, assisted living and memory care, according to Charter. They have been rebranded as:

  • Charter Senior Living of Godfrey, IL;
  • Charter Senior Living of Hasmer Lake, WI;
  • Charter Senior Living of Kenosha, WI;
  • Charter Senior Living of Madison, WI;
  • Charter Senior Living of Mequon, WI;
  • Charter Senior Living of Moline/Charter Memory Care of Moline, IL;
  • Charter Senior Living of Pekin, IL;
  • Charter Senior Living of Rockford, IL;
  • Charter Senior Living of Shiloh, IL; and
  • Charter Senior Living of Troy, IL.

This latest deal comes after the family-owned management company added six New England-area communities in February. The company also has broken ground on a new community in West Bend, WI, and another in  Murray, KY. Both communities are expected to open later this year.

Charter owns and manages more than 65 senior living communities throughout the United States.

“I firmly believe in our supportive culture built upon reliability, loyalty, pride, experience and mutual respect, and our goal of providing seniors with exceptional services and the lifestyle they so richly deserve,” Bennema said.
