McKnight’s Senior Living has won two awards in the 33rd annual Awards for Publication Excellence, or APEX Awards, sponsored by Communications Concepts.

The annual competition drew almost 1,200 entries from all over the world, according to organizers. Awards were for work completed in 2020.

The brand won an Award of Excellence in a Best Newsletters category, for the Daily Briefing e-newsletter. Named on the award were Editor Lois A. Bowers, Content Editor Kimberly Bonvissuto and Editorial Director John O’Connor. (The newsletter is free; sign up here.)

Bowers also won an Award of Excellence in the Best Series of Blog Posts category for three of her editor’s columns:

“To date in 2021, McKnight’s Senior Living has won 17 awards in journalism competitions,” O’Connor said. “These latest achievements are another external confirmation of the quality of work McKnight’s Senior Living delivers for readers every day.”

Separately, sister media brand McKnight’s Long-Term Care News, covering skilled nursing, also won two awards.
