Beginning in June, residents in some BHI Senior Living communities will be able to take advantage of a unique tech concierge program.

For residents, the new service will feature on-demand tech support, alongside virtual assistance, in-home appointments and a curriculum of tailored enrichment classes and training sessions.

For the operator, the program will deliver immediate tech support while also gathering and analyzing data that can be used to inform future technology investments and strategic moves.

BHI Senior Living recently announced the program in partnership with The Smarter Service, a tech concierge provider.

This collaboration reflects the increasing demand for tech support among the operator’s residents, who are using multiple devices to stay independent and connected in the digital age. It also aligns with a broader trend happening across the senior living sector.

“The need for digital literacy is one that all communities must tackle, and we are looking forward to helping BHI expand their ability to support their residents and their families,” said Vida Roozen, chief operating officer of The Smarter Service.

The rise in technology use among older adults has led to a greater need for tech support within senior living communities, often placing a strain on caregivers and other staff members. This partnership is designed to relieve this strain, enabling employees to focus on their essential duties while ensuring that residents receive expert, patient tech assistance.

Tony Conaway, vice president of information technology at BHI, remarked on the evolving tech support landscape: “This partnership comes about as I watch the need for tech assistance grow in our communities. As technology continues to advance, so does the necessity to provide our residents with reliable and skilled support beyond our immediate teams.”

BHI Senior Living has 10 continuing care retirement / life plan communities and two active adult communities across Indiana, Michigan and Ohio.
