Ecumen names Tina Palmer SVP, chief mission advancement officer

Tina Palmer has been named the senior vice president and chief mission advancement officer at Ecumen

Palmer joins Ecumen with decades of experience in fundraising with local, regional and national nonprofit organizations. She most recently was the senior development officer at the Fairview Foundation/University of Minnesota Foundation. Before that role, she led fundraising efforts for Catholic Charities of St. Paul and Minneapolis as vice president of development.

Palmer received her undergraduate degree from Minnesota State University, Mankato, and her Master of Arts degree in philanthropy and development from St. Mary’s University.

Kendal affiliate Barclay Friends appoints Maria Santangelo CEO

Maria Santangelo has been appointed CEO of Kendal affiliate Barclay Friends, West Chester, PA. She succeeds Linda Sterthous, who is retiring after seven years.

Santangelo brings more than 20 years of experience in senior living to her new role. Her most recent role was as executive director of Pine Run Retirement Community.

Valage Senior Living at Carson Valley adds Tamra Tsanos as executive director, Karen Malekos-Smith as director of sales and marketing

Tamra Tsanos has been named executive director of Valage Senior Living at Carson Valley, and Karen Malekos-Smith has been named director of sales and marketing. 

Tsanos’s background includes roles at Alzheimer’s Services of the East Bay, Brookdale Senior Living, Mercy Retirement and Care Center and Belmont Village Senior Living.

Malekos-Smith has held leadership roles at senior living communities, spanning all levels of care. She also was the clinical manager of speech, language pathology and audiology at Mills-Peninsula Health Services and later was the director of donor relations at Mills-Peninsula Hospital Foundation.

Jewish Home Foundation of North Jersey appoints Laurie Meltzer Bandremer as new executive director

Laurie Meltzer Bandremer has been named executive director at the Jewish Home Foundation of North Jersey

The foundation is dedicated to supporting the Jewish Home Family, a network of senior living and healthcare services in northern New Jersey, including Jewish Home Assisted Living/Kaplen Family Senior Residence.

Before joining the Jewish Home Foundation of North Jersey, Bandremer was the director of major gifts at American Friends of Magen David Adom, the primary emergency medical services, blood services and multi-casualty response organization for the state of Israel. 

Edgemere appoints Charles Plafcan as fitness and wellness coordinator

Charles Plafcan has been named the fitness and wellness coordinator at Edgemere

Plafcan brings more than 40 years of health and wellness experience to the community. He started with Edgemere in 2007 as a fitness coordinator and served in that role for 15 years before rejoining Edgemere this year. 

Plafcan has a master’s degree in professional counseling from Amberton University and obtained his certification as a licensed professional counselor with the Texas Board of Professional Counselors.

LeadingAge Southeast appoints Scott Crabtree to board

Scott Crabtree, president and CEO of Lambeth House in New Orleans, has been appointed to the LeadingAge Southeast Board of Trustees.

Crabtree has worked in healthcare administration since 1982 and has decades of experience managing continuing care retirement communities. He was appointed by the secretary of the Louisiana Department of Health to be a member of the Nursing Home Emergency Preparedness Review Committee and was appointed as designated regional coordinator for Region 1 of Louisiana.

Greystone Real Estate Capital adds four to LIHTC platform

Greystone has announced that its Low Income Housing Tax Credit Syndication Platform, Greystone Real Estate Capital, has added four senior members to its team.

Mike Callahan has been appointed senior vice president, director of investment management; Benjamin Jarvis has been appointed senior vice president, developer production; Michael Egidi has been appointed vice president, investor production; and Spencer Gordon has been appointed vice president, director of credit and underwriting.

Callahan previously spent 28 years with Boston Capital serving as the director of asset management and was a member of the investment, disposition and management committees. He holds an undergraduate degree from Providence College and an MBA from the Vanderbilt University Owen School of Management.

Jarvis has more than 19 years of multifamily affordable housing experience in originating, structuring, negotiating and closing Low Income Housing Tax Credit transactions nationwide. He holds an undergraduate degree from Salve Regina University and a certificate in real estate finance from Boston University.

Egidi, with more than 15 years of affordable housing industry experience, is responsible for asset selection, fund placement, structuring, marketing and management of institutional investor relationships. He holds an undergradaute degree from the University of Michigan and an MBA from the Booth School of Business at the University of Chicago as well as the chartered financial analyst designation. 

Gordon, bringing more than 12 years of affordable housing experience, provides credit and underwriting direction and guidance. He holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from the Cox School of Business at Southern Methodist University.

JLL Value and Risk Advisory adds Daniel Schneider as executive director

Daniel Schneider has been named executive director for the JLL Value and Risk Advisory platform.

Before joining JLL, Schneider was a first vice president at CBRE. He spent much of his career at the Valuation & Information Group, with a primary focus on skilled nursing and Housing and Urban Development-related appraisals.

Schneider holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Rutgers University and is a member of various industry organizations, including the Appraisal Institute.
