Masonic Villages names Adrienne Staudenmayer COO
Adrienne M. Staudenmayer has been named chief operating officer at Masonic Villages, based in Elizabethtown, PA.
Staudenmayer will be second in command for Masonic Villages, providing operational direction and strategic oversight of all of the organization’s locations and service areas. She also will be responsible for providing support and guidance to all Masonic Villages’ executive directors and the senior vice president of operations.
Staudenmayer joined the Masonic Home of Pennsylvania — which later became the Masonic Village at Lafayette Hill — in 1988. Throughout her tenure, she has led the community through renovations, construction, service enhancements and growth. She has been executive director of Masonic Village at Lafayette Hill since 2001.
Carl Tarbell will success her as executive director of Masonic Village at Lafayette Hill as she transitions to her new position.
Tarbell joined the Masonic Villages in 2018, when he was hired to serve as the executive director of Masonic Village at Burlington, a community for which Masonic Villages provided management services.
Prior to Masonic Villages, Tarbell was executive director and COO at several continuing care retirement communities and post-acute care organizations.
Frasier names Colleen Ryan Mallon vice president of marketing, advancement
Colleen Ryan Mallon has been named vice president of marketing and advancement — a newly developed executive role — at Frasier, a not-for-profit life plan community in Boulder, CO.
Frasier reviewed its current and future needs of the communities’ marketing, sales, communications and development efforts with the retirement announced of Vice President of Philanthropy and Social Responsibility Karla Rikansrud, opting to create a new position that will encompass all of these responsibilities.
Mallon’s senior living career has involved all aspects of life plan community operations as well as home- and community-based services. Her experience ranges from sales, marketing and public relations, to strategic and financial planning, along with regulatory issues, operational duties and program launches.
Mallon comes to Frasier from Kennett Square, PA-based Kendal Corp., where she was chief marketing officer. She was part of the Kendal development team for project expansions and new business, as well as the corporate strategy team. She also worked closely with the philanthropy department to promote the Kendal Charitable Fund.
Before Kendal, Mallon led the marketing and sales operations, along with other initiatives, at Goodwin House for 13 years. Under her leadership, Goodwin House at Bailey’s Crossroads filled a 106-apartment new tower as part of a $143 million expansion. She was promoted to vice president of marketing and mission expansion and was responsible for existing revenue, as well as exploring and implementing new business opportunities. This led to the launch of Virginia’ first life care at home program.
Other previous work experience includes The Washington House / The Fountains of Washington House in Alexandria, VA, where she began as director of marketing and rose through the ranks to president and CEO. Under her direction, Washington House received a LeadingAge Innovation of the Year award and pioneered one of the first community-based programs in Virginia.
Commonwealth Senior Living names Kim Hurt regional vice president
Kim Hurt has been named regional vice president by Commonwealth Senior Living. She will oversee the operations and sales / marketing functions of Commonwealth’s Hampton Roads communities.
Hurt previously was executive director at The Retreat at Fishersville, VA. She has almost three decades of experience in senior living operations, compliance, sales and marketing. She also was vice president of operations and compliance for American Retirement Homes, where she was on the board of directors and oversaw multiple properties.
Hurt is a Virginia assisted living administrator, licensed practical nurse and licensed preceptor. She has served on the board of directors for the Virginia Assisted Living Association since 2010.
Integral Senior Living names Tim Kidder regional director of sales, marketing
Tim Kidder has been named regional director of sales and marketing for Carlsbad, CA-based Integral Senior Living.
Kidder has almost 20 years of experience working in marketing and sales positions, spending many of those years in the senior living and health industry. In his most recent position as a vice president of marketing and communications for Holiday Retirement, Kidder was responsible for customer acquisition, developing sales material and lead generation at 261 senior living communities in 43 states.
In his new position, Kidder will oversee the sales and marketing efforts of several of Integral Senior Living’s communities, which include independent living, assisted living and memory care.
HMP Senior Solutions names Donna Holden executive director of Cypress Point Senior Living
Donna Holden has been appointed by HMP Senior Solutions as executive director at Cypress Point Senior Living in Fort Myers, FL.
In her new role, Holden will oversee the management and operations of Cypress Point’s assisted living and memory care divisions, including resident care, human resources and finances.
With more than 30 years of experience in the senior living arena, Holden has managed and operated assisted living and memory care units within senior living facilities. She has held a CORE certification for the past 15 years.
Waterstone at the Circle names Kevin Defayette executive director
Kevin Defayette has been named executive director at Waterstone at the Circle in Boston.
Defayette comes to the position with almost 30 years of experience. He will be responsible for maintaining the community’s urban lifestyle and culture and will oversee daily operations.
Defayette most recently served as state director of residential resources of Empire State Inc. and executive director and CEO of an independent living community in upstate New York.
Bridges by EPOCH at Hingham names John Moniz executive director
John Moniz III has been named executive director of Bridges by EPOCH at Hingham, a memory care community in Hingham, MA.
Moniz has spent his entire career in the senior living industry. He has held numerous senior-level positions with large national senior living and healthcare providers, as well as smaller, local communities throughout Massachusetts and Kentucky.
He has earned several awards from organizations including the Massachusetts Assisted Living Association and Somerville-Cambridge Elder Services.
Bowman Place at Olde Bedford names Renee McAllister executive director
Bowman Place, a new private, non-profit senior living community in Bedford, NH, has appointed Renee McAllister as executive director.
In her new role, McAllister will be responsible for the staffing and opening of Bowman Place effective in March, as well as day-to-day management and operations of the community. She also will oversee all health and safety programs, including COViD-19 procedures and protocols.
McAllister most recently was executive director of The Residence at Silver Square in Dover, NH. Previously, she held positions as a general manager and senior general manager for Holiday Retirement, where she was responsible for the oversight of communities in Connecticut, New Hampshire and Maine.
Her experience working with seniors began early as a caregiver at Golden View Healthcare Center. She holds a certificate as a certified dementia professional.
Senior Living of Bedford was formed as a non-profit to oversee the construction and management of Bowman Place, which will offer assisted living and memory care.
Legend Senior Living promotes Donna Golliher to corporate sales specialist
Donna Golliher, sales director for The Windsor of Venice in Florida, has been named corporate sales specialist for the Texas region for Wichita-based Legend Senior Living, which owns and operates more than 40 communities in six states.
In her less than four years as sales director, Golliher led two communities to 100% occupancy and was named Sales & Marketing Director of the Year 2020 by the Florida Senior Living Association.
Golliher will work with targeted communities as a primary sales resource to generate move-ins, new leads, and ensure that the sales process is fully implemented and executed. Her responsibilities will include developing sales strategy for individual communities, working with onboarding and mentoring, coaching and training new hires, and improving communication and sales processes.
Golliher has worked in senior living marketing for more than 12 years, eight of which were as area sales director of Legend Senior Living. After a brief hiatus from senior living, she returned to serve as sales director at Lakewood Ranch and Venice, both in Florida.
Inspir Carnegie Hill names Claire Davenport house geriatrician
Claire Davenport, M.D., has been appointed house geriatrician on the integrated care team at Inspir Carnegie Hill in Manhattan.
The appointment is through a professional service agreement with the Brookdale Department of Geriatrics and Palliative Medicine at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai.
In her role, Davenport will provide onsite primary care to enrolled residents, along with geriatric consultations, two days per week. As part of the collaboration, residents of Inspir Carnegie Hill will receive coordinated access to services at the Martha Stewart Centers for Living and the Mount Sinai Health System.
Park Springs adds Idris Muhammad to community food and beverage staff
Idris Muhammad, who has appeared on the Food Network’s Cut Throat Kitchen and Beat Bobby Flay, has been added to Stone Mountain, GA-based Park Springs’ food and beverage staff. He will assume the role of homemaker at Cobblestone, the assisted living community on campus, where he will serve healthy menu items featuring seasonal cuisine and fresh ingredients in the River Household for individuals with mild cognitive impairments.
Park Springs practices the household model of relationship-based care in the community’s assisted living, memory care and skilled nursing households. Each household is designed as 18 private bedrooms suites, with a kitchen and dining room run by a personal chef or homemaker.
Growing up in Europe and traveling globally with his parents, both musicians, Muhammad sought an artistic profession that built on his love of foods from around the world. His professional experience started as a personal chef to Sean “P Diddy” Combs and Jennifer Lopez before becoming sous chef in P Diddy’s New York-based Justin’s restaurant. He also has been an executive chef in business clubs and retail establishments
Sabra Health Care REIT appoints Clifton J. Porter II to board of directors
Clifton J. Porter II has been appointed to the board of directors at Irvine, CA-based Sabra Health Care REIT.
Porter is senior vice president of the American Healthcare Association / National Center for Assisted Living and is responsible for leading and executing the association’s policy and legislative agenda affecting both assisted living communities and skilled nursing facilities.
Porter has more 31 years of experience in the long-term care profession, starting in operations as an administrator in training, ultimately leading to the oversight of multiple facilities in a large urban market. He developed and led the government relations function for one of the largest post-acute companies in the country and covered both state and federal policy / legislative oversight. He assumed his current duties at AHCA / NCA in 2013.
Porter has been involved in landmark legislation, including the IMPACT Act, Physician SGR repeal, SNF Value Based Purchasing, Medicaid reform legislation, and most recently the government’s response to the COVID pandemic.
AHCA / NCAL CEO Mark Parkinson named ‘Top Lobbyist’ again
American Health Care Association / National Center for Assisted Living President and CEO Mark Parkinson has been named to The Hill’s list of Top Lobbyists 2020.
His name appears on a list of association professionals. This is the eighth consecutive time Parkinson has been named to The Hill’s annual list.
Five Star Senior Living CEO Katie Potter named Top Senior Housing Influencer by GlobeSt
Five Star Senior Living President and CEO Katie Potter has been recognized as a senior housing influencer in the November/December issue of GlobeSt. Real Estate Forum. The influencer series honors individuals, teams and companies that have made recognizable and significant impact in the industry by completing deals and projects and introducing innovation and best practices.
Potter oversees almost 21,000 team members in more than 260 senior living communities across 31 states. She was named CEO in December 2018 and took on the role in January 2019. She led the January 2020 restructuring of Five Star’s business arrangements with real estate investment trust Diversified Healthcare Trust.
In addition, she has directed Five Star’s investment in talent. In September, the annual J.D. Power U.S. Senior Living Satisfaction Study ranked Five Star second nationally in overall customer satisfaction in independent living and fourth overall in assisted living/memory care.
In November, U.S. News and World Report recognized 31 Five Star communities in its annual list of “Best Nursing Homes” based on comprehensive information about care, health inspections and staff, as well as other factors, including COVID-19 management and infection control protocols.
Five Star Senior Living ranks fourth on the 2020 American Seniors Housing Association list and Argentum list of largest U.S. senior housing operators.
Potter was inducted into the McKnight’s Women of Distinction Hall of Honor in 2020.
GlynnDevins names Krystal Montague chief transformation officer
Krystal Montague has been named chief transformation officer for Kansas City, MO-based data, analytics and marketing technology firm GlynnDevins. She will oversee and support the company’s integration of acquisitions and new processes.
Montague brings almost 20 years of operational and marketing experience to GlynnDevins. She most recently served as vice president of operations at Service Management Group, a global market research company. She was instrumental in improving business productivity and profitability while supporting the transformation of strategic operations.
Montague began her career with marketing roles at NPC International and Sullivan Higdon & Sink. She is a graduate of the University of Kansas and earned an MBA from Park University.
McShane Construction Co. president retires; successor named
Mat Dougherty, executive vice president at Rosemont, IL-based McShane Construction Co., will transition into the president’s role, succeeding Jeff Raday, who will retire at the end of the year after 22 years in the president’s role.
Raday joined the firm in 1996 as vice president and was promoted to president in 1998. As president, he guided the firm’s growth. Under his leadership, the firm broadened its project portfolio and diversified geographically, expanding into new markets across the country.
Raday led the establishment of the firm’s four regional offices in Phoenix; Irvine, CA; Auburn, AL; and Madison, WI. He increased the business’ annual revenue from $60 million to $600 million.
During Raday’s tenure as president, McShane was a seven-time winner of NAIOP Chicago’s Contractor of the Year Award, the 2012 recipient of the Hispanic American Construction Industry Association Chicago Contractor of the Year Ward, the 2011 recipient of the African-American Contractors Association Chicago Contractor of the Year Award, National Association of Home Builders’ 2019 Multi-Family Builder of the Year and one of Crain’s Chicago Business’ Best Places to Work in Chicago in 2019 and 2020.
Dougherty joined McShane in 2000 as a project engineer following his graduation from Marquette University.
Love & Co. names Lauren Houlik senior research analyst
Lauren Houlik has been hired as a senior research analyst at Frederick, MD-based senior living marketing and consulting firm Love & Co.
Houlik comes to her new position with recent leadership and consulting roles in market research, as well as roles in healthcare administration and population health management.
Houlik will work alongside Karen Adams, Love & Co.’s vice president of market intelligence, on the firm’s team of 40-plus marketing, consulting and creative professionals.
