Leisure Care grows with executive promotions

Leisure Care, based in Seattle, has announced several promotions within its corporate office, including naming Bre Grubs as executive vice president of revenue strategies, Madisen Kovell as director of new business, and Candace Ortega as health services manager.

Grubbs, former vice president of new business, will remain a partner. In her new position, she will oversee sales, marketing and new business.

Grubbs began working for the company as a marketing intern. She became the director of Leisure Care’s business team in 2011, heading that department until assuming her current position.

Kovell, a former manager of new business, moves into Grubbs’ former position and will lead development and acquisition opportunities for the company. She began as a market research analyst with the company. She is pursuing an MBA from The Foster School of Business at the University of Washington.

Ortega, former health and wellness corporate trainer, will support the growing Leisure Care communities with health services, including assisted living and Opal by Leisure Care, Leisure Care’s signature memory care program. A registered nurse, Ortega has been with Leisure Care for seven years.

Leisure Care soon will open two communities in Murrieta, CA, and one in Brookfield, CT, with four more communities slated to begin construction later this year.

LifeSpire announces 2 appointments

Christine Moran has been named corporate controller of LifeSpire of Virginia, and Heather Crumbaugh has been named executive director of Lakewood Retirement Community.

Moran has more than 25 years of experience in all aspects of accounting information, production, compliance and management. In her new role, she will lead LifeSpire’s accounting team, monitor and manage the company’s cash position and its nonprofit foundation’s business affairs, and serve as an accounting and financial consultant to senior leadership and communities.

Moran most recently was the director of finance at the Faison Center, where she supervised the finance and purchasing departments and managed all aspects of month-end close and all aspects of the year-end audit.

She previously was controller for Patient Services as well as business unit accounting manager for global business services for MeadWestvaco.

Heather Crumbaugh headshot

Crumbaugh has more than 15 years of experience in all aspects of senior living, including improving operational efficiencies and outcomes, team and census-building, strategic planning and project management.

She most recently was the regional director of operations, mid-Atlantic region, for Senior Lifestyle Corp., where she had operational oversight of 10 communities offering independent living, assisted living and memory support across five states. She improved the organization’s net operating income by more than $500,000 within one year, according to LifeSpire.

Crumbaugh previously was vice president of sales and operations for upscale senior living communities in South Carolina as well as the CEO of a life plan community in Chapel Hill, NC.

Legacy Senior Living promotes Allison Haun to director of human resources

Allison Haun has been promoted to director of human resources at Legacy Senior Living, based in Cleveland, TN. She previously was the human resources coordinator.

Haun joined the Legacy Senior Living team after almost two decades of experience in similar roles. In her expanded role, she will deepen her involvement in team member development and organizational support and will advise the senior leadership team in human resources matters.

Bozeman Lodge names Elicia Ruiz executive director

Elicia Ruiz has been named executive director of Bozeman Lodge, a Radiant Senior Living independent and assisted living community in Bozeman, MT. She brings 12 years of experience in senior living to her new role.

Ruiz began her career in senior living in a memory care setting, focusing on specialized care for individuals experiencing the symptoms of Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia. She gained experience at Bozeman Lodge as business office director, marketing director and assistant executive director.

Taylor Design names Michael Levendusky design director

Michael Levendusky has been named design director of Irvine, CA-based Taylor Design, an employee-owned architectural, interior design and design strategy firm serving senior living and other industries.

With more than 30 years of experience, Levendusky’s work encompasses healthcare, corporate, science and technology, civic and residential projects of all sizes and scopes.

His master planning work includes Illumina in San Diego; Veterans Affairs West Los Angeles; and Veterans Affairs Long Beach. He also was instrumental in the design of Cedars-Sinai Advanced Health Sciences Pavilion and the Martin Luther King Jr. Behavioral Health Center, both in Los Angeles.

Levendusky previously was a principal / senior architectural project designer for HOK in Los Angeles.
