Presbyterian Senior Living promote Kate Hershey to chief operating officer

Kate Hershey has been promoted to chief operating officer of Presbyterian Senior Living.

Hershey has been part of the PSL leadership team for six years, holding positions of senior executive director, regional director of operations, vice president of life plan services and senior vice president of operations.

Hershey is a graduate of the LeadingAge Larry Minnix Leadership Academy class of 2010, is a licensed nursing home administrator in Pennsylvania and Delaware, and is a certified aging services profession. She also has served in various capacities on the LeadingAge Pennsylvania board of directors and the Alumni Network of LeadingAge.

Acts Retirement-Life Communities announces new appointments to leadership team

Jim Petty has been promoted to executive vice president, chief strategy officer, and Sean Fletcher has been promoted to senior vice president, real estate services, by Acts Retirement-Life Communities

Petty previously was senior vice president, strategy and mission development. Fletcher was vice president, property management and construction services.

Saint Therese appoints Cindy Olson chief sales and marketing officer

Cindy Olson has been named chief sales and marketing officer for Saint Therese in Saint Louis Park, MN. She will be responsible for overseeing the planning, development and execution of the nonprofit organization’s sales, marketing and advertising initiatives.

Olson most recently was vice president of marketing, sales and communications for Volunteers of America National Services. There, she was responsible for sales, marketing and communication efforts for senior care and services, including continuing care retirement communities, senior living communities, skilled nursing facilities, Programs of All Inclusive Care for the Elderly, adult day services, behavioral health programs and home health agencies across seven states.

She also was vice president of consulting business development with Health Dimensions Group and senior director of sales, marketing and customer experience, with the Evangelical Lutheran Good Samaritan Society.

Buckner Retirement Services names John Falldine as senior executive director for Ventana by Buckner

John Falldine was named the new senior executive director for Ventana by Buckner, a Dallas life plan community operated by Buckner Retirement Services, effective April 15. 

In his new role, Falldine will oversee community operations, regulatory compliance, and resident and associate relations. He most recently served as executive director of Edgemere, a Dallas senior living community, and held leadership roles with Greystone Communities. He also was a senior living operations and marketing consultant for several senior living communities across the country.

LCB Senior Living names Eileen Mahoney as executive director of The Residence at Boylston Place

Eileen Mahoney has been named executive director of The Residence at Boylston Place, an independent living, assisted living and memory care community in Chestnut Hill, MA, owned and operated by LCB Senior Living

With almost 20 years of experience in senior living, Mahoney previously worked at The Current Weymouth, a Monarch Communities assisted living residence. She also was regional vice president for The Regus Group, formerly known as DBA HQ Global Workplaces.

Springpoint names LuAnn DellaPietro executive director of The Atrium at Navesink Harbor

Luann DellaPietro, RN-BC, BSN, LNHA, has been named the new executive director of The Atrium at Navesink Harbor, a Springpoint life plan community in Red Bank, NJ.

DellaPietro has been part of Springpoint for more than 30 years, previously serving as the director of health services for The Atrium. She most recently was the administrator and assistant executive director at Village Point Rehabilitation and Healthcare. She is the recipient of the Springpoint President’s Award.

The Springs at Whitefish names Joel Allen as executive director

Joel Allen has been named the new executive director of The Springs at Whitefish in Whitefish, MT. 

Allen joins Oregon-based The Springs Living after seven years with Logan Health Medical Center in Kalispell, MT, where he most recently was a practice manager, overseeing clinical staffing, compliance and patient satisfaction. He also has experience as a financial adviser and operations manager.

The Residence at Village Greens names Terri Sanelli executive operations officer, Kim Kostival community relations director

Terri Sanelli has been named executive operations officer of The Residence at Village Greens, which is set to open this summer in Sinking Springs, PA. 

Pennsylvania-based IntegraCare will operate The Residence at Village Greens, as well as 17 other senior living communities in three states. The Residence will include 131 units housing independent living, personal care and memory care residents. The building will sit on the site of the former Village Greens Golf Course and adjacent to the historic Mull Mansion, built in 1802. 

Sanelli has been a nurse for 30 years and is a certified dementia practitioner. 

Kim Kostival, who has 30 years of experience in senior living and care, will join Sanelli as community relations director. She is known as a Pysanky, Ukrainian egg artist and holds craft shows, art-related presentations and art classes in her free time. She also is involved in the music ministry of her church as a soloist and choir member.

Juniper Village at the Spearly Center welcomes Mark Hinchcliffe as director of community relations

Mark Hinchcliffe has been named director of community relations by Juniper Communities for Juniper Village at the Spearly Center in Denver.

Hinchcliffe brings more than a decade of experience to his new role, with a background spanning assisted living communities, short-term rehabilitation and skilled nursing. The Spearly Center provides long-term care and short-term rehabilitation to 130 residents coping with chronic brain injuries, chronic mental illness or neurological disorders.

The Springs at Anna Maria in Medford promotes Angelo Zwirn to executive director

Angelo Zwirn has been promoted to the role of executive director at The Springs at Anna Maria in Medford, OR. 

Zwirn is filling the role after his predecessor, Meaghan Walkup, was promoted to regional director of operations. Zwirn has served The Springs at Anna Maria for more than a decade, most recently as the business office manager. 

Zwirn previously worked in the community as a resident services coordinator, life enrichment coordinator and dining room supervisor. Zwirn has experience in vehicle loan services and retail management in Oregon and California.

Legacy Retirement Communities names Katherine Wright as director of resident engagement

Katherine Wright has been named director of resident engagement for Legacy Retirement Communities by Western States Lodging and Management

Wright is a nationally certified and state licensed recreational therapist with 10 years of experience working with older adults and developing senior living recreation and enrichment programs to meet individual wellness goals and enhance resident social, emotional and physical well-being. 

Wright is president of the Utah Recreation Therapy Association and holds the NCTRC specialization designation for older adults, the firs recreational therapist in Utah to achieve the distinction. 

Brookdale Senior Living board members announce retirements

Marcus E. Bromley and Guy Sansone, non-executive chairman of the board, have notified Brookdale Senior Living that they will not stand for reelection at the 2024 annual stockholders’ meeting. 

Sansone and Bromely will continue to serve as directors until their retirements from the board become effective at the conclusion of the 2024 annual meeting.

SAGE welcomes Bandar Alturkmani, Mara Keisling to board of directors

Bandar Alturkmani and Mara Keisling have been named to the board of directors of LGBTQ elder advocacy organization SAGE.

Alturkami is on the global private bank chief product office team within the asset and wealth management of JP Morgan Chase. He is a frequent volunteer at God’s Love We Deliver, New York Cares and SAGE. He has been the lead for JPMC’s Surround Sound relationship with SAGE for the past two years. He has organized an array of volunteer activities for JPMC employees to support SAGE and served on the host committee for the 2022 and 2023 TOYS Party.

Keisling Is the founding executive director of the National Center for Transgender Equality. She is consulting around trans policy and messaging. She led organizational dn coalition efforts for NCTE that won advances in transgender equality, including the inclusion of gender identity in the federal Employment Non-Discrimination Act from 2007 on, as well as other federal and state-level wins. She co-authored “Injustice at Every Turn,” a 2009 report of the National Transgender Discrimination Survey, and the report of the 2015 US Transgender Survey.
