St. Mark Village names Joseph Remer III VP of finance, promotes Randall Rees to VP of healthcare services

Joseph Remer III has been named vice president of finance and Randall Rees has been promoted to vice president of healthcare services at St. Mark Village, a continuing care retirement community in Palm Harbor, FL. 

Remer comes to the community after serving in many different roles — chief financial officer, director and controller — in hospice, home health, behavioral health, skilled nursing facilities and long-term acute-care hospital settings. He received his MBA from the Philadelphia campus of the University of Phoenix and received his undergraduate degree in accounting and business management from Mount Saint Mary College.

Rees has worked at St. Mark Village for three years and has more than 10 years of experience operating skilled nursing facilities and short-term rehabilitation centers. He attended Florida State University for his undergraduate studies and the University of Central Florida for his MBA, where he focused specifically on health care administration.

St. Mary’s Health Care System appoints Eric J. Schuck chief medical officer

Eric J. Schuck has been named chief medical officer for St. Mary’s Health Care System, a regional health ministry of Trinity Health.

The Athens, Ga-based St. Mary’s system includes Highland Hills Village in Watkinsville, GA, which offers independent living, assisted living and memory care.

Schuck comes to St. Mary’s from HCA Florida Fort Walton-Destin Hospital and HCA Florida Twin Cities Hospital, where he served as CMO. Prior to his service with these two hospitals, he held CMO roles at HCA Florida West Hospital and in HCA Healthcare’s TriStar Division.

Schuck graduated with honors from Emory University School of Medicine in Atlanta, where he studied as an Air Force Health Professions Scholarship recipient. He then completed a residency in pediatrics at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base/Dayton Children’s Hospital in Dayton, OH, before serving almost 10 years in the US Air Force.

Lifespace Communities names Elijah Heyboer executive director at GreenFields of Geneva

Elijah Heyboer has been named executive director at GreenFields of Geneva, a Lifespace community in Illinois.

Before joining Lifespace, Heyboer served as human resources director at Park Place of Elmhurst, IL, where he oversaw assisted living, memory care, skilled nursing and subacute rehab. He earned an undergraduate degree in human resources management with minors in finance and Spanish from Trinity Christian College. He is also a licensed nursing home administrator.

Silverstone communities hire Rosaleen Burkholder, Tiffany Webster, Stephen Winterling

Rosaleen Burkholder has been named community life director at The Seneca, Rockville, MD. Additionally, Tiffany Webster has been named a sales counselor, and Stephen Winterling has been named an executive chef, at The Landing, Alexandria, VA. Both are Silverstone Senior Living communities.

Before joining The Seneca, Burkholder began serving older adults as an activity coordinator in long-term care before transitioning to director of assisted living at Tranquility at Fredericktowne. She has more than two decades of experience in entertainment planning.

Prior to joining The Landing, Webster served in roles for Brookdale Senior Living and Asbury Methodist Village.

Winterling holds a degree from Baltimore International Culinary College, a Pro 2 chef certification from Culinary Institute of America and an executive chef certification from the American Culinary Federation. He has been an executive chef at establishments including Capitol City Brewing Co., Boeing, Marymount University and Starr Hill Brewery.

K4Connect has named Mike Weller CEO. 

Weller has more than 20 years of technology experience. Before joining K4Connect in 2022, he held the roles of chief revenue officer at Go Global Retail and chief operating officer at Softonic. Weller’s career also includes positions at AgilOne (acquired by Acquia), Points and Luvocracy (acquired by Walmart Labs), among others.
