National Church Residences CEO Mark Ricketts to retire in June

Mark Ricketts, the third president and CEO in National Church Residences’ 60-year history, has decided to retire in June.

Ricketts has been president and CEO since December 2014, leading a 2,500-member team responsible for caring for more than 46,000 older adults in 24 states. He has been with the organization since 2000.

AlerisLife appoints Heather Pereira as SVP, CFO, treasurer

Heather Pereira has been appointed as senior vice president, chief financial officer and treasurer of Newton, MA-based AlerisLife.

Pereira had been vice president and corporate controller of Acushnet Holdings Corp. since May 2017. She has more than 20 years of accounting and finance experience and holds a master’s degree in accountancy and an MBA from Northeastern University. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Boston College.

Beth Rusert has been selected as the first chief experience officer for St. Louis-based Lutheran Senior Services

Rusert previously was vice president, chief marketing and ministry engagement officer for Concordia Plans. She holds a master’s degree in marketing from Webster University and a bachelor’s degree in journalism from Valparaiso University.

Retirement Unlimited announces new SVP, Beth Kolnok

Beth Kolnok has been promoted to the new position of senior vice president of marketing, sales and engagement at Retirement Unlimited Inc.

She will guide the marketing, sales and life enrichment teams in both Virginia and Florida. She also will oversee several of RUI signature programs, including Inspiritás – Memory Care, Leash On Life – Pet Concierge Services, and RUI University – Life Long Learning program, as well as the implementation of the new MYRUI app.

Kolnok began her career with RUI in March 2017.

Ventas Appoints Molly McEvily VP, corporate communications

Molly McEvily has been appointed vie president of corporate communications at Chicago-based real estate investment trust Ventas. She reports to CEO Debra A. Cafaro and is responsible for leading Ventas’ internal and external communications strategy and execution.

McEvily joins Ventas from Citadel, a global alternative investment firm with more than $50 billion in investment capital. There, she most recently held the title of chief operating officer, global affairs and served in several other key roles over more than 10 years. She helped set and lead Citadel’s strategy for corporate affairs and communications, including internal and external communications, corporate reputation management, executive thought leadership, branding and philanthropic engagement.

Radiant Senior Living promotes Jenni Bost to VP of marketing 

Jenni Bost has been promoted to the position of vice president of marketing at Radiant Senior Living. Her previous position was director of brand development. 

Bost joined the Radiant in 2013 as the social media and marketing specialist. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in journalism from Oklahoma Baptist University.

The RMR Group appoints Tiffany Sy to VP position

Tiffany Sy has been appointed a vice president of The RMR Group, chief financial officer and treasurer of Seven Hills Realty Trust, and chief financial officer and treasurer of Tremont Realty Capital, effective Oct. 1

Sy joined The RMR Group in 2020 as a senior director, accounting. Before joining RMR, she held various accounting leadership positions at Five Star Senior Living, a client of The RMR Group, and Bank Rhode Island.

Sy also practiced public accounting for 15 years, including in the audit practice of Ernst & Young for more than 10 years. She is a certified public accountant.

The RMR Group’s clients also include senior living provider AlerisLife (parent of Five Star) and real estate investment trust Diversified Healthcare Trust, for which the portfolio includes senior living properties.

The Buckingham names Philip Jacob executive director

Philip Jacob has been named the new executive director at The Buckingham in Houston.

He joined the senior living community as a healthcare administrator in 2011 and mostly recently was interim executive director. He brings several years of experience from SavaSeniorCare Houston properties.

Jacob started his career in hotel management in Toronto. He relocated to Houston in 2002 to join Marriott as a sales and catering director.

Scottie Casey named executive director of Juniper Village at Spicewood Summit

Scottie Casey has been named the new executive director at Juniper Village at Spicewood Summit, a Juniper Communities property.

Casey has worked in various roles in the senior living industry during the past 28 years. Most recently, he oversaw and onboarded new administrators and executive directors for eight years. He holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Lamar University.

Broadview at Purchase College promotes Amy Post to marketing director

Amy Post has been promoted to marketing director by Broadview at Purchase College, under construction in Rye Brook, NY. 

Post is the longest-serving member of the marketing and sales team, recently celebrating her four-year anniversary. Previously, she was residency counselor for Broadview Senior Living for 4 years.

Before Broadview, she worked for The Knolls in Valhalla, NY, first as the cultural arts activities director and later as a residency counselor.

Broadview at Purchase College is scheduled to open in late summer 2023. The community is being co-developed by Senior Care Development and LCS Development and will be operated  by Life Care Services.

CEAL announces new member organization, board reps

The Center for Excellence in Assisted Living welcomed a new member, Workforce & Quality Innovations LLC, over the summer. Founder and principal Lindsay Schwartz, PhD, FGSA, is the former associate vice president of workforce and quality improvement at the American Health Care Association / National Center for Assisted Living.

Schwartz continues to be CEAL board chair.

CEAL also welcomed two new board representatives: Jill Schewe and Penny Cook, MSW. Schewe is the director of policy and regulatory affairs at the National Center for Assisted Living, and Cook is president and CEO of the Pioneer Network.

Peter Bailey joins Sentrics as CEO

Peter Bailey is the new CEO at Sentrics. Before joining the company, he was executive vice chairman of the board of Consensus Health. 

Bailey holds an MBA from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, a Master of Arts from Johns Hopkins University, and a Bachelor of Science degree from Lehigh University.

MPAC Healthcare appoints Hailey F. Paley COO

Hailey F. Paley has been appointed chief operating officer at Chicago-based MPAC Healthcare, a provider of advanced medical and mental health clinical services focused on the senior population in senior living communities and other long-term care settings.

Before joining MPAC, Paley served in operational and strategic roles as an executive with Sound Physicians and its newly formed long-term care accountable care organization.

Kepler Vision announces two appointments

Gerben Noot has been named to the new role of operational director at Kepler Vision Technologies, which makes software that looks after the well-being of senior living and care residents.

Noot brings more than 20 years experience of improving healthcare with IT. He joins Kepler from Philips, where he held the role of senior project manager for healthcare IT.

Additionally, Alwin van Deuren has been appointed senior care consultant at Kepler. He brings 26 years of experience in healthcare to his new position.

In his previous role, van Deuren was a healthcare innovation consultant at Dutch elderly care organization, Oktober.

LeadingAge NY bestows award on Peconic Landing’s Jennifer Drofenik 

Jennifer Drofenik, Peconic Landing’s director of health services and assisted living administrator, is the 2022 recipient of LeadingAge New York’s Thomas Clarke Memorial Award. The award recognizes personal integrity and professional dedication in the next generation of leaders under the age of 40, according to LeadingAge New York.

In addition to her role at Peconic Landing, Drofenik is vice president of LeadingAge New York’s assisted living cabinet.

Drofenik, a licensed nursing home administrator, has worked in long-term care since 2011. She officially will receive the award Dec. 1 at a virtual awards ceremony.

OHCA award goes to The Springs Living’s Meaghan Walkup

Meaghan Walkup, senior executive director for The Springs at Anna Maria in Medford, OR, was recognized with the Leadership Excellence Award by the Oregon Health Care Association at its annual convention in Portland, Oregon. 

Walkup has led The Springs at Anna Maria for 12 years and has worked at the community for 17 years.
